No
man thinks more highly of patriotism than I do. The
question I want to bring before you is one that I think
is the result of an awful moment for this country.
Should I not speak my opinions at a time such as this
because of the fear of giving offense? If I did, I
would be as guilty as those who I consider to be
derelict in their duty to our nation and all the people
who elected them.
It is
natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope, the
hope that all of our elected leaders can be counted on
in the enforcement of the laws of our country. In that
hope, we are apt to shut our eyes against the painful
truth, and listen to the song of that siren, till we
find ourselves burden with a task that only the brave
and fearless of heart can thwart and fight back.
Are
we to be counted among the number of those who, having
eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not our entreaty
and humble supplication to the leaders of our great
country, our great county to deal with the incredible
invasion by millions of illegal aliens? For my part,
whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to
pay that price.
I
know of no way of judging of the future but by the
past. And judging by the past, our elected officials
will do nothing unless we, the people, stand up for our
rights. We have the right to have our laws properly
administered and enforced, at whatever cost.
Because of the in-action of our national government, our
state, county, and local municipalities are not
enforcing the law of our land. According to
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC
1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii),
“State and local law enforcement officials have the
general power to investigate and arrest violators of
federal immigration statutes without prior INS knowledge
or approval, as long as they are authorized to do so by
state law. There is no extant federal limitation on
this authority. The 1996 immigration control
legislation passed by Congress was intended to encourage
states and local agencies to participate in the process
of enforcing federal immigration laws. “
An
unknown millions of these illegal aliens have swarmed
into Country over the past several years. These
illegal aliens who freely walk our streets take low wage
jobs keeping the lid on wages that would normally
increase to attract American workers. The illegal
aliens compete for the same goods and services that
Americans compete for, thus creating demand that would
not normally be there. This competition increases the
cost of those goods and services to all, especially in
the cost of gasoline to the citizens of our Country.
The Facts:
The US imported an average of 13
thousand barrels of oil each day during the month of
August 2007 according to the department of energy’s
report on the weekly Imports and Exports that can be
found at
http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet_move_wkly_dc_NUS-Z00_mbblpd_w.htm.
One barrel of oil produces an average of 22 gallons of
gasoline. On any given day in August, 2007, the US
imported the equivalent of 286,000 gallons of gasoline.
The number of these illegal aliens is estimated to be
20 million but is more likely closer to 50 million. If
only a third of them drive an automobile that is an
extra 6.667 million autos on our roads every day.
If each one of those 6.667 million autos get 20 miles to
the gallon and each are driven only 20 miles a day and
if my figures are correct, that is 6.667 million gallons
of gasoline or 303,000 barrels of oil consumed by these
illegal aliens every day. Thus, causing the cost of
gasoline to our citizens to skyrocket and reduce our
standard of living.
The
presence of these illegal aliens burdens our schools
requiring the need to increase teaching positions and
the building of new schools. Both require an increase
in property tax to fund those “needs”. Our hospitals
and social services are also burdened by these illegal
aliens, but worst of all they laugh at our system of
laws. The law of our land prohibits their presence
here, yet they are allowed, through the inaction of our
elected officials’, unbridled access to a way of life
that a huge price has been paid to create.
Underpinning the foundation of our liberties is the law,
the irrefutable fact that no one is above the law, and
that everyone must answer to the law. Yet, our elected
officials turn a blind-eye to these illegal aliens and
allow them to remain here illegally, and either prosper
or drain the taxpayer’s coffers using public assistance.
Every
illegal alien is a criminal, yes a criminal. By
definition a criminal is one who has committed a crime.
A crime is an act or the commission of an act that is
forbidden or the commission of a duty that is
commanded by a public law and that makes the
offender(s) liable to punishment by that law.
From
the White House to the county court house to the city
hall, our elected officials are guilty by the definition
of a crime. The very oath that each of them swore to
on entering their elected office is being abridged by
their blind eye and their deft ear to the law.
The
dereliction of duty by our elected officials is a
definite threat to the very foundation of our liberties’
and that foundation is the rule of law!
"The rule of law is a political principle the classic
exposition of which is in Dicey Law of the Constitution
(10th Ed, 1959) p 187 et seq. Dicey identified three
principles which together establish the rule of law: (1)
the absolute supremacy or predominance of regular law as
opposed to the influence of arbitrary power; (2)
equality before the law or the equal subjection of all
classes to the ordinary law of the land administered by
the ordinary courts; and (3) the law of the constitution
is a consequence of the rights of individuals as defined
and enforced by the courts."
I am
here to tell you that the king is not wearing clothes.
I am here to accuse all of our elected officials of
dereliction of their duty. They see but do not see and
they hear but do not hear and that is no excuse for
belittling our system of laws by not enforcing the law
of the land equally. No one is above the law!
Our
forefathers, 231-years ago put at stake their fortunes,
their honor, and their very lives to bring forth a
country that has become the Shining City on the Hill.
From the bridge at Concord to Gettysburg; from the
Battle of the Bulge to the Sands of Iwo Jima and all
armed conflicts since. Our men and women have paid the
ultimate price to protect our freedoms - our way of
life. The price they paid for our freedom is too high,
yet our elected officials around this country have
cheapened entry into our country by their dereliction of
duty to this unlawful invasion of our country. The
President, the Senate, the Congress, the governors, the
county administrators and mayors, all are an
embarrassment to all of those who have fought, rightly
or wrongly, to build a country of laws providing an
unparalleled haven of freedom.
How
can I, or any grandfather, teach our grandchildren
respect for the law when they see our elected officials
refuse to respect and enforce our laws? There is one
and only one course of action for “we the people” to
take – elect Tom Millican President and I will enforce
the law! Enforce The Law, ETL!
I
challenge our elected officials to do the “right
thing.” The “right thing” all of us who elected them to
their office believed and hoped that they would do.
Protect the future of our liberties by equally applying
the law. Put the illegal aliens; those that hire them
and those that rent to them - in jail, for they all are
breaking the law.
From
the above referenced Act;
A
person or entity having knowledge of a violation or
potential violation of employer sanctions provisions may
submit a signed written complaint to the INS office with
jurisdiction over the business or residence of the
potential violator, whether an employer, employee, or
agent. The complaint must include the names and
addresses of both the complainant and the violator, and
detailed factual allegations, including date, time, and
place of the potential violation, and the specific
conduct alleged to be a violation of employer
sanctions. By regulation, the INS will only
investigate third-party complaints that have a
reasonable probability of validity. Designated
INS officers and employees, and all other officers whose
duty it is to enforce criminal laws, may make an arrest
for violation of smuggling or harboring illegal aliens.
